The title—a reference to the bellicosity of the US's most popular cable news sources, also refers—albeit obliquely—to Phillipe Manoury's collection of pieces for solo or small ensemble with score-tracking electronics named after planets.

This piece was commissioned as a part of the larger "Sounds After the Oil War" project, which imagines the American response to the Iraq debacle through the lens of Kubler-Ross' stages of grief.
